TOPIC: Stereo 3D anyone?

Stereo 3D anyone? 17 May 2012 18:01 #28

I'd like to field a question as there is a chance that we will be adding stereoscopic 3D (be it Nvidia's 3D Vision shutter glasses support and/or anaglyph) support into Blackspace.

So my question is simple. Are you interested in playing such a game with stereoscopic 3D and do you have a setup to enjoy such an experience?

We'd like to hear about your experience and thoughts on S3D!

A very good question Volga, I would be enjoying if it could integrate such a thing in the game. The solar system and planets to playing in Stereo 3-D would be determined very nice and very visually appealing. I can see before my eyes the meteorite already in 3-d flying towards me.

Another question back. Would be possible to set this as "setting" in the game, each player can decide. Yes, I want to play in 3D or not. If some folks miss of the performance - (video card)

Yes, I have a setup on my machine and can also play Stereo 3-d games.

Eh I would never use it. I don't like wearing glasses while playing games. I doubt many people would even turn it on. For me the time and resources spent would not be worth it. I admit I don't know what it takes to add it to the game but I would think time spent eleswhere would be better. Just my 2cents.

Thanks for your input guys. Yeah that's always the question, whether or not the majority would get any benefit from it. In this case, however the feature is really pretty easy to implement.

The market for 3d glasses has always seemed iffy to me. And it is hard to demo 3d in a big way because you cant see it from afar, you have to physically get the glasses or whatever on your face. And in some people it causes vertigo.

So, it would be nice to have, but it should only be a secondary concern.
